Lonely Planet Review

Deloraine Creative Studios

Deloraine and DCS have been glowingly reviewed by Lonely Planet. The town itself is described thus:

Nooked into the base of the Great Western Tiers, Deloraine commands wonderful views at almost every turn. Blessed with the photogene, the town is bisected by the winding Meander River, with Georgian and Victorian buildings scattered around the main street, Emu Bay Rd. There’s a vibrant, artsy feel here, with several good eateries and craft studios to visit.

Along with other businesses, such as Cycles at the Empire Hotel and the Folk Museum, DCS is listed as a must-visit venue:

The arts and crafts being produced in this artist-operated studio space are a cut above many galleries and craft shops on the island. Wander around to see artisans at work in their open studios – if you like the finished products on display, you can usually purchase them. There’s woodwork, weaving, fashion, toys, jewellery, glass and furniture to admire.
